My Life is Procrastination

Happy New Year! (Yeah, 2 months late I know)

I'm so glad I finally changed this journal. To say I'm ashamed it's been another 6 months is an understatement. It's true that I have loads of spare time at uni, but it seems to be taken up with constant procrastination! That and socialising, naturally. Anyway ...

Life

Yup, uni. I've been here since October '08 and it's completely brilliant. I love my friends, my halls, my course! I'm studying English Lit, Film, Theatre and TV and the whole thing is fascinating. I've got a radio show at 4pm on a Monday afternoon which I love and I'm hoping to be a newsreader for my uni TV station. The opportunities are everywhere!

The whole thing is speeding by however, and I'm so aware of making the most of this time. It's only 5 months until I move into my house with 4 friends for the next couple of years, and then the whole dynamic will change. I'm just concentrating on living life half full.

Photography

Unfortunately this does mean photography has hit the back burner. I have to read so much of the time; plays, books, poems, scripts and watch films and TV (haha, well that's not hard) but it does of course fill every little space.

Luckily I have a load of stuff "in the cupboard" as it were that needs posting. Band photography and travel photography ... so that'll do. Here at uni I have become a sports photographer, taking photos of the boys in 'Hardly Athletic FC' (my corridor's footie team) every Sunday night. But it's not as fun as stuff I've done before. I'll put those up too at some point.

In good news! My best mates- the band Wheeler Street surprised me with an excellent Christmas present. They gave me the first copy of their new album 'Roodumdah' due to be released this month, and unbeknownst to me they've used all of my photography for the album cover! My name is cited inside too, so it may lead to other things. :boogie:

Other Stuff

There isn't much. I'll stop talking at you soon!

Art is stopped for now. I definitely don't have time. And living opposite me is a friend who sells his paintings for £2000. Not helping my creative confidence!

Writing, well I do that a LOT. Mostly it's essays but starting in September I have more choice in my units, so creative writing, script writing etc.

Music- check out Ron Pope. I discovered him yesterday and love him.
Films/books- Is anyone else a Twilight fan?!

That's all kids. I'll be active. :D

I'm actually going to have to comment on my own page as I have discovered something really weird that wound me up and yet I cannot find my shoutbox anywhere, if I even have one.

Why on earth do people webcam themselves singing along to songs and post it on youtube, entirely seriously?! Is there no better way to spend life? Do they crave recognition? Are they mad? Is this normal?

I'm guessing it's a Youtube addiction thing. I've never had the patience to get addicted. I just watch Rubber Johnny over and over again.

Hurrah. Hope you're having fun off being adventurous and exciting. \o/
