A NEW FEATURING CONCEPT FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS !!!
I've been thinking of a new way to feature artists and I came up with a concept to my liking. At the moment I'm contacting artists who are willing to take part in this try out, and all reactions have been very positive so far !!!
This is a journal idea that's based on the actual artist. He can make his own short ID oneline, write a bio to introduce himself to the world, and make his own selection of works to be featured. I'm quite enthousiastic about the whole idea, and so are the people I asked to join in the project so far.
I hope you like this idea and will have a look into it once I post my next journal. (which I'm also gonna post in an article)
I'm gonna pasta a text here that I quickly made this afternoon, to give you an idea of what my kind of featuring is gonna look like:
***************************************************************
MY NEW FEATURING CONCEPT:
I'm a bit sick of people always showing other artist's work,
but always making a selection of shots based on their own

Charity Drive
There are thousands of charities that raise money for the environment, for people, for animals or for research to help any of the three.
Well known charities include Oxfam, Greenpeace, World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA), World Wildlife Foundation (WWF), Red Cross, Amnesty International and World Vision. Just to name a handful of international organisations.
Now, you may be wondering why I am talking about charities.
Every year, I support a charity or two. This year, I would like to encourage the members of DeviantArt to get involved in charity. Many of you are generous (some I’m sure already support a charity) and, as they say, every little bit helps.
There are many charities out there that need our money and help for their cause. To help animals wild or domestic, help the environment, find cures for diseases or help people in strife whether poor, starving, sick, homeless or abused.

My Life is Procrastination

Happy New Year! (Yeah, 2 months late I know)

I'm so glad I finally changed this journal. To say I'm ashamed it's been another 6 months is an understatement. It's true that I have loads of spare time at uni, but it seems to be taken up with constant procrastination! That and socialising, naturally. Anyway ...

Life

Yup, uni. I've been here since October '08 and it's completely brilliant. I love my friends, my halls, my course! I'm studying English Lit, Film, Theatre and TV and the whole thing is fascinating. I've got a radio show at 4pm on a Monday afternoon which I love and I'm hoping to be a newsreader for my uni TV station. The opportunities are everywhere!

The whole thing is speeding by however, and I'm so aware of making the most of this time. It's only 5 months until I move into my house with 4 friends for the next couple of years, and then the whole dynamic will change. I'm just concentrating on living life half full.

Photography

Unfortunately this does mean photography has hit the back burner. I have to read so much of the time; plays, books, poems, scripts and watch films and TV (haha, well that's not hard) but it does of course fill every little space.

Luckily I have a load of stuff "in the cupboard" as it were that needs posting. Band photography and travel photography ... so that'll do. Here at uni I have become a sports photographer, taking photos of the boys in 'Hardly Athletic FC' (my corridor's footie team) every Sunday night. But it's not as fun as stuff I've done before. I'll put those up too at some point.

In good news! My best mates- the band Wheeler Street surprised me with an excellent Christmas present. They gave me the first copy of their new album 'Roodumdah' due to be released this month, and unbeknownst to me they've used all of my photography for the album cover! My name is cited inside too, so it may lead to other things. :boogie:

Other Stuff

There isn't much. I'll stop talking at you soon!

Art is stopped for now. I definitely don't have time. And living opposite me is a friend who sells his paintings for £2000. Not helping my creative confidence!

Writing, well I do that a LOT. Mostly it's essays but starting in September I have more choice in my units, so creative writing, script writing etc.

Music- check out Ron Pope. I discovered him yesterday and love him.
Films/books- Is anyone else a Twilight fan?!

That's all kids. I'll be active. :D

I'm actually going to have to comment on my own page as I have discovered something really weird that wound me up and yet I cannot find my shoutbox anywhere, if I even have one.

Why on earth do people webcam themselves singing along to songs and post it on youtube, entirely seriously?! Is there no better way to spend life? Do they crave recognition? Are they mad? Is this normal?

I'm guessing it's a Youtube addiction thing. I've never had the patience to get addicted. I just watch Rubber Johnny over and over again.
